3/12/2024: Bipartisan bill addressing affordable housing hits Gov. Hobbs’ desk

“Right now, we are experiencing where supply meets demand and that’s pushing prices out of control and pushing people further away from the ability to purchase a home,” Democratic Rep. Sarah Liguori from Phoenix said. House Bill 2570, or the Arizona Starter Homes Act, is sponsored by Rep. Leo Biasiucci, who says it is a solution to the state’s housing crisis. He says the bill’s goal is to increase the supply of starter homes on the market. Lawmakers gathered Tuesday at the Capitol to have their voices heard, urging the governor to sign this bill. “Allowing for smaller houses would make housing more equitable, create stability in people’s lives and provide shelter from landlords and inflation,” Liguori said.

The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors appointed Democrat Sarah Liguori to fill a vacancy in the Arizona House of Representatives. Earlier this week, Liguori told Democrats in the district that addressing the affordable housing crisis is her number one priority. “We’ve reached an unsustainable point where housing demand well surpasses supply, wages have not kept up, and now 50% of Arizona renters face housing insecurity — with that number closer to 60% in our district,” Liguori said.

Net Blue Development as sustainable development. “It’s a buy-in from our government and our citizens to continue to drive water sustainable efforts here in Arizona. “I’d like to just reiterate CRT is not real in our children’s education system,” said state Representative Sarah Liguori, a Democrat from Phoenix, during the House floor session. “I heard a version of this bill in committee. 5/9/2022: Arizona is leaving its water future to the whims of a single lawmaker

3/24/2022: House approves 15-week abortion ban, Ducey will have final say

Placing the viability standard nine weeks earlier than the federal standard of 24 weeks puts a greater burden on women to identify pregnancies sooner. Rep. Sarah Liguori said women aren’t always able to do that, and shared that one of her friends didn’t realize she was pregnant until she was at 22 weeks. “Pregnancy is a journey without a roadmap. There is no normal pregnancy, there is no predictability, there is no guarantee. It may happen when you want it to, it may happen when you don’t. It may happen when you least expect it,” she said, near tears, and imploring her fellow legislators to empathize with women and vote against the bill.

Rep. Sarah Liguori, D-Phoenix, disputed this opinion, saying that before puberty, girls and boys don’t differ significantly in height, muscle or bone mass. 2/21/2022: GOP lawmakers target municipal minimum wage limits

Rep. Sarah Liguori, D-Phoenix, said she’s not sure a single statewide standard is a good idea. “I’m not sure if this is going to help or hurt wages,” she said. “Each city and town does business differently,” Liguori said. “So the state coming in and overseeing how everyone needs to do business is my concern.”
